MATTHEW F. POLICASTRO SENIOR ASSOCIATE
Matt is a litigation attorney with a focus on representing insurance carriers and their insureds in several areas. His practice includes large property loss subrogation throughout the United States in matters that range from losses due to fires, explosions, water damage claims and structural failures. Matt has recovered millions of dollars for his clients throughout his career as a result of numerous jury trials and settlements.
His practice also includes liability defense representation. In particular, Matt has successfully defended both insureds and corporate concerns alike against claims involving premises liability, employment practices liability, as well as product defect, general tort and personal injury claims. His employment practice includes defending employers against discrimination, harassment and wage and hour claims. One prominent example includes securing a dismissal for his client in a wage and hour putative class and collective action in federal court involving airport skycaps.
Additionally, Matt represents a diverse group of businesses and individuals in all types of commercial matters, including drafting and negotiating a wide variety of agreements; corporate and employment counseling; and commercial litigation. His commercial litigation practice includes successfully litigating and negotiating resolutions for a wide variety of corporate and partnership disputes, contract disputes, mechanics lien litigation, non-compete / trade secrets litigation, and fraud and breach of fiduciary duty litigation. Matt has also successfully obtained temporary restraining orders and injunctions against employees for violations of non-compete and confidentiality agreements.
When Matt isn’t practicing law he enjoys spending time with his wife and family. Some of his personal interests include traveling the world, college football, rugby, and just about anything related to Pearl Jam.
